April Fool's Joke

James Frederick died silently and peacefully in his home on April 1st. The cause of his death is unknown, but multiple prescription bottles were found around his bed and an intentional overdose is suspected.

The password to James' blog was easy enough to figure out: the title of one of his songs. It took me three tries to get in here. I have not, however been able to get into his myspace or his regular website or his email. Most likely, this will be the only way I can post more info about his life and unfortunately his death.

Some people may claim to have seen James around (at open mic, perhaps) on April 2nd or at work or playing at Jitters Cafe later today. That is most likely the ghost of James Frederick who his quite high on prescription medications and unable to actually realize that he is dead. Who knows how long he will continue to materialize at musical events. It may take a while for the drugs to wear off.

If you see the ghost of James Frederick playing and singing, don't tell him that he is dead. Please. I beg you. Just let him think that he continues to be alive and well -- if not a little high.

You may, however, wish to talk to him about his songs and how wonderfully depressing they are. Specifically, the new arrangement of Rainy Day, which is quite wonderful -- I must say without fear of being modest.

Here comes James' ghost now... how do you tell a ghost from the real person? Well, they are paler... which doesn't really help in James' case because he has always been quite inhumanly pale. Ghosts tend to float around rather than walk. Not James'. He walks... though, his feet never really seem to touch the ground.

He seems very happy... like I said, he doesn't know he is dead and he is -- of course -- high on medications. He is trying to drink a glass of water, but it is just going right through him and spilling all over the floor. It's hilarious watching him as he looks around wondering where the water comes from.

Well, I should be getting ready for the Jitters Gig. James plays at 4, I think.

Happy late April Fool's Day.
